Do You have a Plan for Your Parents'  Future Care?

Do you know if their current needs are being met?
Have you discussed these issues as a family?
Are your siblings presently at war over these concerns?
Do you know the relevant concerns and where to get help?

A Trained Elder Mediator Will Be Your Moderator for Your Online Family Meeting.

A trained Elder Mediator will supervise your live online family meeting to keep it on track.  The Mediator will also conduct a Power Point presentation that will address the major elder issues, including  where to go for help. The meeting will give all parties an opportunity to talk as a group (or privately) with the mediator.

These Essentials for Your Plan Will be Discussed:

  • Evaluating your Parents physical and mental condition
  • Collecting the appropriate information
  • Dealing with doctors and hospitals
  • Dealing with finances
  • Finding an attorney
  • What information your attorney needs for essential documents
  • What is a DPOA, HPOA, DNR
  • Understanding Medicare, VA, Medigap, Medicaid, Social Security, Assisted Living, Nursing Homes
  • Sharing the work and sharing the opportunity.

Some of the conflicts that arise in a family meeting may require a formal mediation to be resolved.

You Need an Overview of the Issues Before You Can Start a Plan

"I am an attorney and a mediator who found himself in a new role as sole caregiver to my parents.
Not withstanding my education I had no clue where to start. This structured meeting is intended to be your family's place to start ".

Elder planning is a very broad subject! The information offered here is generic and not state-specific. No legal advice is offered.
Our approach is to "open the door" to the issues and encourage your family to get the specific help they need.  The mediators know how to mediate, not "everything there is to know" about elder care and elder law.  We hope to get you started and point you in the right direction but you will need experts along the way. Ultimately you must become the expert for your own special situation.
